Lowbed Trailer
3 to 6 Axles | Fixed or Extendable | Heavy Machinery Transport
STU Lowbed Trailers are built for heavy equipment transport — excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, and agricultural machines — where low loading height, stable road behavior, and confident loading via rear ramps are essential. Configured by axle count (3–6), fixed or extendable chassis, ramp type, platform width, suspension, and steering axle preference.

Chassis & Steel
S355J2+N or S700MC PLUS
Choose S355J2+N for cost-effective standard builds or S700MC PLUS (from SSAB Co.) for high-strength weight reduction.
TRAX / GIGANT / BPW / SAF
Axle brand is selectable across all models to match your service network and spare parts availability.
Axle Families
3-Axle Lowbed (Fixed or Extendable)
A balanced configuration for daily heavy equipment transport. Width 2550/2750 mm, hydraulic or foldable ramps, air or mechanical suspension, self-steering or hydraulic steering axles.
4-Axle Lowbed (Fixed or Extendable)
More axle footprint for demanding routes and higher stability needs. Width 2550/2750 mm, hydraulic or foldable ramps, air or mechanical suspension.
5-Axle Lowbed (Fixed or Extendable)
Designed for heavy-duty cycles and higher axle-count compliance targets. Full configuration flexibility: chassis, ramps, width, suspension, and steering.
6-Axle Lowbed (Fixed or Extendable)
Maximum axle footprint for route-restricted projects and high-duty operations. Available fixed or extendable with full option compatibility.
Steering Axle Options
3-Axle: Last Axle Self-Steering
Most common pattern for 3-axle lowbeds: last axle self-steering. Hydraulic steering available on request for tighter route geometry.
4-Axle: Last Two Axles Self-Steering
Most common pattern for 4-axle lowbeds: last two axles self-steering. Hydraulic steering available on request.
5-Axle: First + Last Two Axles Self-Steering
Most common pattern for 5-axle lowbeds: first axle + last two axles self-steering. Hydraulic steering available on request.
6-Axle: First + Last Three Axles Self-Steering
Most common pattern for 6-axle lowbeds: first axle + last three axles self-steering. Hydraulic steering available on request.
Hydraulic Steering (All Axle Families)
Hydraulic steering axles can be applied to any lowbed axle family (3/4/5/6) on request — preferred when turning radius is critical, tire scrub reduction is a priority, or the trailer is used in challenging route geometry.
